Q: “You have so many ways of playing a guitar, you get so many sounds out of the instrument itself – has most of this come from within or have you seen other players and thought ‘oh, that’s a nice idea. I’ll incorporate that or see what I can do with that’? Sometimes your hands are all over it! Sometimes your right hand is actually up in the neck above your left hand playing notes – usually a bass note.”
A: Tal Farlow: “Yeah, well, it's always the basement when he's up there. That's to complete a chord that I can hear, but I can't reach with one hand, you know. I just play the chord.
Interviewer: “You're talking about the range?”
Tal Farlow: “And then I hit th string, yeah, hit the string with the first finger of my right hand, hard, you know, so it comes out.”
