A: “But you see, let me tell you. I want to tell you something. I'm not a saying it because preset company excepted. I did not want to make those recordings of a piano solo. I just did not think of myself as that. Although I played the Cafe Society alone. I played 'Boogie Woogie' at the Cafe Society with Albert Ammons. I followed Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson and Meade Lux Lewis into the Cafe Society.”
