[Discussing the next visit Gene Lees next interview when he will be bringing a new book]

Q: “Maybe the next time you’re back we’ll hold the hook up to the microphone so everybody can see the pictures…”

A: “The great line, I asked Steve Allen if he originated the line and that the line was that “Radio is theater of the mind, television is theater of the mindless.” And I asked Steve if he really originated that line. He says, "I no longer remember, but I certainly agree with it."
