Q: “Have you ever thought of actually teaching?”

A: “I've been thinking about it recently. I've been on the road so much. I'm beginning to say to myself, am I going to be a wandering nomad the rest of my life, you know. No, but I've been thinking about the possibility of an artist in residence type of situation where I could, you know, teach courses in the history of jazz and my ideas about jazz improvisation, but still have time to travel and perform.”
