Q: “[You are] a bit of an audio fan. I guess you have to be to a certain degree when you use an amplifier, right? You have to understand all of that…”

A: Tal Farlow: “Yeah, you've got to take an interest in that, you know. Sure, actually, Red Mitchell sort of turned me onto that, you know, when he was with Red Norvo and ...”

Interviewer: “Sweet Sound Mind.”

Tal Farlow: “Yeah.”

Interviewer: “High Five or whatever.”

Tal Farlow: “Yeah, right. That's right. He was one of the first that, you know, would be into that and … I ordered a kit to build an amplifier, you know, you see, that I have used to, you know, on the record tape, just play guitar through it. It was a high fidelity amplifier, maybe twenty watts or something like that.”

Interviewer: “Yeah.”

Tal Farlow: “It's clean.”

Interviewer: “Yeah.”
