Q: “Who does arrangements for you? Who do you usually have write charts for you?”
A: Joe Williams: “We have a number of people that had been doing church first. I have a lot of things by the late Jimmy Jones. Kirk Stuart has been doing some things for me. He's at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas right now.”
Interviewer: “The musical director?”
Joe Williams: “Yeah. Well, no, he's working in the lounge with a trio, with his trio, playing piano and singing, and CJ Johnson in New York City, you know, who was a collaborator with the Quincy Jones on many things. He does some things for me and these three young men I've been doing lately. Norman Simmons has done one thing for me as well.”
