Q: “What do you think you still need work on in your own playing? If I put you in front of a piano and said ‘practice!’, what are you going to practice?”

A: “Oh, a lot of things, believe me. I mean, really, a lot of things, but I tell you one of the things, you can never get enough ideas, you know, to play. There are special kind of people who can do this, who can think and play what they think and hear at the same time, but the one thing I'm still trying to master is how to play 8th note. “
