Q: “It seems to me that if you are interested in jazz, which is basically an improvisatory music where every performance is going to be different, that the discipline of doing a book show... Do you ever get any nights where you just go wild?”
A: “No, in fact, we don't. People think we improvise a great deal, which in fact, we don't. We improvise very little, mainly because if we improvise, it's very difficult to get it back to the text. You know, if you go out on a limb and come back to the main core of it, it sometimes a bit of sort of a jump, you know.”
