Q: “How much is an audience important to you?”

A: “Well, it's very important to have an audience that's listening. So often anymore when you play restaurants, especially, that have jazz music as opposed to a jazz club, you get talkative audiences and it becomes a lesson in how to tune it out. The audience that's listening, that's really into the performance means a lot to have that electricity flowing back and forth between me and them.”
