Biography

WARREN VACHE (cornetist, trumpeter, flugelhornist) was born February 21, 1951 in Rahway, New Jersey. The swing era aficionado comes from a musical family, with his father being a bassist and brother Allan, a clarinetist. Vache studied with big band trumpet great Pee Wee Erwin and counts Louis Armstrong and Clifford Brown among his influences. A versatile player known for his warm tone he has recorded some 35 albums as well as recording as a sideman for recordings, film and theatre. Vache is on faculty at Juilliard.
