TONY OLDLAND (rhythm guitarist) was born in England, and relocated to Canada as a young man. In 1995 in Toronto, he was part of a group of Django Reinhardt’s fans, spearheaded by Andre Seguinot, who got together for the sheer enjoyment of playing the music of the “Hot Club of France”, a musical assembly which later gave birth to The Club Django Sextet of Toronto". In May 2000, the Sextet released its first CD, entitled "A Tribute to the Hot Club de France".

Tony Oldland was a member of the Club Django Sextet when they were featured in the “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Concert Series at the Ontario Science Centre in October, 2000.


2001 – as part of ‘The Club Django Sextet”. received the Canadian Collectors' Congress Award for ‘Best Traditional/Classic Jazz Album of 2000.
