Biography

SCOTT ALEXANDER (bassist) was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. It was there he started to play bass as a 12-year-old, progressing to professional playing after moving to Ottawa, where he worked with the RCMP Band for several years. His prominence on the Ottawa jazz scene saw him sharing stages with international jazz names including Oliver Jones, Herb Ellis, Clark Terry, and Zoot Sims.

Later relocating to Toronto, Alexander quickly established himself as a first- call player there, working with Rob McConnell’s famed The Boss Brass, Moe Koffman, Guido Basso, and countless others. He has numerous recordings to his credit, including releases by Salome Bey, Alanis Morrisette, and Russ Little.
