Quinsin Nachoff

Biography

QUINSIN NACHOFF (saxophonist, composer) studied privately with Joe Lovano, Alex Dean, Jim McNeely, Frank Falco, Mike Murley, and others. He is currently a respected teacher himself, on the faculty at both the University of Toronto and the Humber College Music program where he instructs in Advanced Improvisation. He has also coached at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta.

As a sideman he has performed and/or recorded with renowned musicians including Kenny Werner, Howard Johnson, Dave Binney, Kenny Wheeler, and Don Thompson among others. He continues to record and perform with his own Quinsin Nachoff Trio, and is a member of Tim Posgate's Hornband, the Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra, Darren Sigesmund's Strands Quintet, the Hilario Duran Big Band, Michael Herrings' Vertigo, and Michael Bates' Outside Sources, musical associations and projects which have taken him on tour across Canada, the United States, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and China.
