Peanuts Hucko
Biography
PEANUTS HUCKO (clarinetist, saxophonist, bandleader) was born Michael Andrew Hucko on April 7, 1918 in Syracuse, New York and passed away June 19, 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Swing Era clarinetist performed with Glenn Miller’s Army Air Force Band, Benny Goodman, Eddie Condon and Jack Teagarden’s bands among others, doing studio work for ABC and CBS in the post war years. Hucko led his own groups, with a regular stint at Condon’s club in the mid 1960s, later joining the “World’s Great Jazz Band”. He appeared regularly on the “Lawrence Welk Show” and led the Glen Miller Orchestra on tours in the 1970s.
