MARC JORDAN (singer, composer) was born in 1947 in New York City, New York, U.S.A., the son of Canadian singer Charles Jordan. He grew up in Canada, studying film-making at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario before pursuing a professional music career. As a musician, he first came to the public eye as a back-up musician playing guitar for singer Bobby Vee.

After releasing several successful albums in Toronto, he moved to Los Angeles in the early ‘80s to become a session musician and songwriter for notables including Diana Ross, Chicago, and The Manhattan Transfer. His original tune Rhythm of the Heart became a million-selling single that propelled Rod Stewart’s Vagabond Heart album to triple platinum. He left the L.A. scene to spend more time with his wife singer/songwriter Amy Sky, and in 1993 released his Reckless Valentine jazz album for Warner Music who also re-issued his back catelogue on CD including gold classics such as Marina Del Rey and Survival.

Currently living in Toronto and the Muskokas, Marc Jordan’s career has continued to soar as a recording artist and hugely popular concert performer wherever he appears.

He was the featured performer in the “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Concert Series on January 10, 2005.
