KEVIN DEMPSEY (drummer) was born in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada. He has become a familiar figure on the local jazz scene around Toronto, but has also toured extensively throughout North America, and to international destinations including Malaysia, Italy, and Russia. Trombonist/bandleader Dave McMurdo calls him “…an explosive musical force…an exquisite purveyor of colour and groove… a beautifully rounded player…”.

Dempsey is a charter member of the Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra, and also plays with the Dave Restivo Quintet, the Peter Appleyard Quintet, and has appeared in performance and on recordings with numerous other leading jazz musicians. He is a member of the Music Faculties of both McMaster University and Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario .
