KENNY DREW JR. (pianist) was born June 14, 1958 in New York City. The winner of the 1990 Great American Jazz Piano Competition has achieved success not only in the jazz arena but is an accomplished classical musician as a soloist and with a trio. Drew has performed with Stanley Turrentine, Slide Hampton and the Mingus Big Band among others. He has released 20 albums as leader and appeared as a sideman on many others.
