Biography

GEORGE KELLY (saxophonist, composer, arranger) Miami, Florida born Kelly was a member of Al Cooper’s Savoy Sultans in Harlem’s Savoy Ballroom in the 1940s. After playing backup for Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Jay McShann and Tiny Grimes among others he formed his own quintet “George Kelly’s Jazz Sultans” in the 1970s.
