Donald Brown
Biography
DONALD BROWN (pianist, composer, educator) was born March 28, 1954 in Hernando, Mississipi. Memphis raised Brown made a name for himself while attending university as part of the “Memphis Three” along with Mulgrew Miller and James Williams. Aside from his busy recording and performing career – which included a stint with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Brown is a noted educator. During his time at Berklee he taught Cyrus Chestnut and Danilo Perez. His compositions have been recorded by artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Jon Faddis and Renee Rosnes.
