Dave James

DAVE JAMES (drummer) was a gifted graduate of the prestigious Humber College of Music Jazz Studies Program in the 1980s. Following graduation, the talented percussionist played throughout the Toronto area with many of the leading jazz artists and ensembles on the scene.

He returned to his Maritime roots many years ago, and continues to live and work in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he has been a mainstay performer in jazz clubs and festivals including the international Atlantic Jazz Festival ever since returning to Halifax.

Dave James was a member of the (pianist) Bill King Quintet (Campbell Ryga on saxophone, Ted Quinlan on guitar, Dave Young on bass) when they performed in the “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Concert Series at the Ontario Science Centre on March 9, 1992.
