Biography


BEN SIDRAN (pianist, vocalist, broadcaster, producer, lyricist, writer) was born August 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. The multitalented Sidran, known for his clever lyrics, was host of NPR’s award winning “Sidran on Record”. The scholarly Sidran was referred to by the Chicago Sun Times as a “Renaissance man cast adrift in a modern world”. As musician and producer Sidran has worked with Mose Allison, Steve Miller, Boz Scaggs and Van Morrison among others as well as his own projects, along the way earning Grammy nominations and producing “Jazz Talk” a collection of interviews with legendary jazz musicians.
