Biography
ANDY LAVERNE (pianist, composer, arranger) was born December 4, 1947 in New York, NY. Laverne studied at Juilliard, Berklee and the New England Conservatory as well as private lessons with legendary pianist Bill Evans. He has worked with Frank Sinatra, Stan Getz, Chick Corea, Michael Brecker and others. Aside from his numerous recordings- over 50 as leader - he has contributed to Downbeat and other publications as well as producing a series of instructional videos. LaVerne, a five time recipient of National Endowment for the Arts fellowship is on faculty at the University of Hartford.
