Biography

ADAM MAKOWICZ (pianist, composer, arranger) born in August 18, 1940 in Czechoslovakia, the classically trained Polish pianist was enamoured of “forbidden” jazz music growing up in 1950s Poland. After achieving fame in Europe, Makowicz was presented in the U.S. in 1977 by John Hammond which saw him performing with Earl “Fatha” Hines, George Shearing and Teddy Wilson at Carnegie Hall. The critically acclaimed pianist has performed both solo and appeared with numerous symphony orchestras worldwide and has over 30 recordings to his credit.
