Q: “When did you hit New York and move out of home?”

A: Warren Vache: “Actually, the first job I had in New York was in a Broadway show. It was called Dr. Jazz and Bobby Van was the lead and they wanted a Dixieland Band, a youngish-looking Dixieland Band, on stage, so my brother and I went in and auditioned and the next thing I knew I was working in this Broadway show.”

Interviewer: “What did he play?”

Warren Vache: “Allen is a clarinet player. He works with Jim Cullum's Happy Jazz Band down in San Antonio, a fine player.”
