Q: “You do an awful lot of work with Steve Allen, don’t you?”

A: “Uh huh, in fact, we just worked with them last week. We've been doing a bunch of one-nighters lately where just ... actually it's just Steve and Jayne Meadows and myself and they always supply us with a 16-piece band and we do a comedy jazz show. It's really a jazz comic. Actually, it's a jazz show because Steve has no act. He ad-libs.”
