Q: “What about writing – do you create much of your own music?

A: “I'd been getting more interested in that, at least, maybe, I don't know what you'd call it, it's just side interest. I never did study very much in compositions and so on, except for short periods and I'm hoping to... that's one of my interests, too. But I've been just, you know, contributing a few tunes for the dates that I'm getting to do now. I'm trying to think more about it. In fact, I might do a completely original tune album. Maybe it's not too late to get into it deeper. But I think a lot of people or just some people became instrumentalist early. Some people had that strong compositional element early and some people who had been doing both. I seem to have been more toward the planning all the time and I might have a chance to think more about that as I go along. It's still something that I'm interested in very much.”
