Q: “What are some of the favourite things for you to listen to?”

A: “I listen to all the older pianists. When I have time, I listen a lot to Earl Hines and Tatum and Luckey Roberts and Willie The Lion. I come discovering so much I never heard before. I really realize how modern these men were and how incredible they were. And I listen a lot to African traditional music, too, West Africa, Central Africa and whatnot.”
