Q: “Do you remember what your first recording date was, real official recording date?”

A: “Well, actually, the first wasn't really ... well, it was a recording deal. It was for Standard Transcriptions in Chicago and it was with a trio I was working with in St Lois the Joe, Sherman trio. But then first 78 recording I did was with Circle, Rudi Blesh, a solo album. That was the first.”
