Q: “Do you play best with an audience? Would you rather record live in that sense, than a studio or are there advantages to both or what?”

A: “Probably, yeah, probably advantages to both. I think that from all these years of playing in front of people that I do play better with an audience. But there still is ... I think it's fascinating anyway, a kind of… I don't enjoy playing, say, in my living room for a group of friends. I get really self-conscious about that, but when I get on the stage, there is a kind of separation there that helps.”
