Q: “Can you remember the worst piano you’ve ever had anywhere?”

A: “Oh, yes, the worst piano that I think I ran into was in... I think it was Louisiana, and I'm trying to think the name of the town, Monroe, Louisiana. And I came in and I hit the piano and I knew then. I said, "Well, this is going to be a disaster." So I knew I couldn't. There was no way to tune the piano or tune the band out, so what I did, I found a note. Well, I couldn’t remember the note that we tuned it out with, but it was a completely different note on the piano that I tuned the band out with.”
