Q: “You, in addition to playing with big bands have done a lot of small group work. You were with Marian McPartland for quite a while, weren’t you?”

A: “I was with Marion off and on quite a few years, yeah, Hickory House mostly. In fact, I spent every summer there for about three, four, or five years. Started with Toshiko and again, with Toshiko, then Marion for another three years. I was a fixture there.”
