Q; “You mention around fifty-six or something that you were with the Buddy Morrow Band, was it?”

A: “Buddy’s band, a very good band, McKenna, Dick Johnson, a guy named Lou, Big Lou, Aradicio [ph], his name was. Big Lou they called him. He played trombone. Billie Watson [ph] was on there a little later. Three good trumpets, … but that was it, we had enough guys to make it go, Rick Davies, Bob McGee, a couple of guys not known very well, but weere very good players, good jazz players. In fact, that band was the better band I played with Woody Herman in '57.”
