Q: “What are you trying to do that’s any different perhaps than any of your contemporaries? How are you trying to be ‘Hilton Ruiz’ in music?”

A: “I think it's basically the sound that I produce when I play. The sound and the feeling. People get a good uplifting feeling when they hear me play and that really makes me feel good. It has to do with the feeling that comes out. I don't think that I'm doing any real innovating or anything like that. I'm just presenting it with my own feeling.”
