Q: “What are the things that you look for in a song? Is it melody that gets you or is it the harmonies?”

A: “It's all of it. I mean, not evading the issue. But it's a feeling that a song ... each song is a little entity, a little emotional like, for instance, 'Give My Regards to Broadway', that's a cute-sounding melody to me and especially when you do it as a bossa nova, you know, it's charming, you know.”
