Q: “Was music something you really wanted to do? Did you know you wanted to be a musician?”
A: “Well, it started, you know, at the age of nine, I have... you know, when kid's mind were then made of, "I want to play ball early." So at that time, it wasn't nothing in ball players. I mean, meaningful wise a ball players, so my grandmother said, "Look, what can you gain out of trying to play baseball? What are you going to make?" You know, so after I got involved and interested in music, now, she just wanted me to have music as a background thing. She wanted me to continue my education and become a doctor, so I said, "Doctor?" So anyhow, she saw that I already got interested in music, so that's when she decided to buy me a saxophone.”
