Q: “Was there a good music scene there [Jacksonville, Florida] in the twenties?”

A: “Yeah, we had pretty good musicians and for in Florida, they're like Cootie Williams, although he didn't live in Miami, but he did a lot of playing around Jacksonville, Florida. Then, he had some bands, good bands, you know, for that time perhaps with the music they're playing then. That's some pretty good bands.”
