Q: “Is Japan a favourite place for you to play? As you say, it might be a little difficult because of the language but…”

A: Don Friedman: “Oh as far as the audience is concerned, it's...”

Interviewer: “Just let them see it and everything?”

Don Friedman: “It's very... that they do things in a very, very first class way. Everything is very nice. People are very friendly, very polite and the audiences are, I think, are … people that are jazz fans in Japan seemed to be very knowledgeable, so it's interesting. And, of course, it's a very different kind of a culture than what we're used to.”
