Q: “The world is your address and you’ve been to all parts of it, haven’t you? Where haven’t you been?”

A: Clark Terry: “Well, I haven't been to South America yet.”

Interviewer: “Never?”

Clark Terry: “Never been to South America and I've missed a couple of opportunities to go. One, very recently, they started last year, a new festival, do you know about the festival there? “

Interviewer: “No.”

Clark Terry: “They just started last year and I was invited to come down, but it was for one day and I just thought it was just ridiculous to do all that flying and then to go down there to play one concert and all the way back because I had to be back, you know, immediately after this concert was finished for some other previous commitments. And I kind of thought about it for a while and … it was Norman who offered me to go down there and he said, "Well, it's just ... " He said, "Personally, I don't think it would make too much sense for you to go down for that ... "
