Q: “Cedar, you do quite a bit of writing. Do you consciously sit down and write your originals, or do they sort of happen and are eventually documented?”

A: “Well, I usually write in fragments. I'll come up with the size of a piece, the chunk of one, and as the years have gone by, I know that I won't be able to finish it or decide on a finish for it right away. So yeah, it's conscious. Yeah, sure, I'm a conscious composer.”
