Q: “It’s such a dichotomy in terms – ‘music business’…”

A: “Oh, I don't think so. I think musicians really shouldn't exclude themselves from having to do that kind of work. I think that's a little snobbish, really. And I don't think musicians are allowed to be more temperamental than the average person, either. I think you can do your little accounting book work and it's certainly not going to hurt your inspiration at all. I mean, the musicians that have record labels behind them, they spend most of their time buying new clothes to look snazzy for their audience who are making the rounds, you know, trying to get a company interested in their new product or something. So they don't spend all of their time with their fist up to their chin thinking of marvelous, new creative things. They do a lot of rigmarole too, and so do we, but ours is for ourselves and nobody else and it's not hurting anyone.”
