Q: “How does [your music] come to you, where does it come from and how long have you been doing it?”

A: “Well, is that all you want to know? It's really very simple. It's like any desk job, I suppose. You just sit down and ... Well, in my case, I play the piano until I hit on something that I think sounds good or different or interesting, and I write it down and then I think, “Well what should the next note be?” and I try them all out, and when I find one that I think goes well, I add that note, and I do this for about three years and I come out with a piece of music.”
