Q: “Maybe I shouldn’t ask you but, do you get along with [Peter Appleyard] alright? He has quite a reputation as being somewhat strange to deal with at times…”

A: “Well, I do, really. I like him and I really get along with him okay, and I haven't seen him go in those things that I hear he can go into sometimes, so I think he's a nice guy. He does a lot of things with the rhythm session himself and he features Warren Rochet [ph] the trumpet player, he features me and then we all come back and we just end up playing together. Everything is like impromptu, though, really. You know, he leaves it free to play as much as you want to and it's really interesting.”
