Q: “One of the things that was quite a delightful surprise for me when I was in the club the other night was to see a band wearing tuxedoes! You never see that anymore – people come in with blue jeans and torn shirts, and it’s so nice to see a band looking good.

A: “I kind of got into that habit. I've done a lot of work with Benny Goodman lately. I almost played here with him and we had conflictions on dates or something; I had to play somewhere else. But I went out with Benny, let's see, I think, July and August. We did about fifteen or so individual concerts and it was wonderful. I love to work with Benny Goodman. He's such a great musician. Again, he keeps you on your toes and really, it's a delight.”
