Biography

SUSANNAH MCCORKLE (vocalist, lyricist, writer) was born in 1946 in Berkeley, California and passed away May 19, 2001 in New York. The internationally acclaimed McCorkle, with a repertoire of some 3,000 songs, was pursuing studies in languages to become a translator when she chose a singing career instead. Her facility with languages produced widely praised lyrics for French, Brazilian and Italian songs and her knowledge of pop and jazz history infused her cabaret shows and concerts. McCorkle also published fiction and non-fiction in a number of magazines and developed interactive music lectures for both children, college students and adults.
