Biography

SAM MOST (flutist, saxophonist, clarinetist) was born December 16, 1930 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Most, is considered one of the first great jazz flutists and has performed with Tommy Dorsey, Don Redman and most notably Buddy Rich’s band from 1950-61. The brother of clarinetist Abe Most, he became an active studio musician after moving to Los Angeles and has recorded a number of albums.
