Biography

GEORGE MASSO (trombonist, bandleader, vibraphonist, composer) was born November 17, 1926 in Cranston, Rhode Island. Masso, a Swing and traditional jazz player is best known for his work with Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Bobby Hackett and the World’s Greatest Jazz Band. In addition to composing, arranging and performing for radio, TV and film he has recorded with Buck Clayton, Woody Herman and Peggy Lee among others as well as his own recordings.
