Biography

DAN BARRETT (trombonist, cornetist, arranger) was born December 15, 1955 in Pasadena, California. A proponent of classic and traditional jazz Barrett formed a band in high school the Back Bay Jazz Band featuring the music of King Oliver and Jelly Roll Morton among others. Barrett has worked with Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Doc Cheatham, Rosemary Clooney and Woody Allen – appearing on the soundtracks of Allen’s films “Mighty Aphrodite”, “Bullets over Broadway” and “Everyone Says I Love You”. Barrett is musical director for Arbors Records.
