Q: “If I were to say to you that you could make any record you want, what would you make? Is there something that you haven’t done that you want to do? Because, I have recordings of you with a huge string orchestra, with big bands; I mean – in almost every conceivable setting. There’s probably something you’d still like to do…”

A: “Well, I still like to do quartet records, but with Jimmy Rowe's actually, and really get some material and get it done. You know, play it for about six months on the road, which a lot of times with these tunes I'm playing them for the first time, you know. You know, playing them on the road for a while I wouldn't mind doing another one with strings, of course I wouldn't sing on that one.”
