Q: “You had the advantage of being next door to New York and as a kid it must have been like Mecca for you to head over the bridge and be able to hear some of the great masters right there…”

A: “That's right. As a matter of fact, that's what finally took me away from school, you know. Being a little too hip and hanging out and meeting these people and actually, I've been a professional musician since I was fourteen years old. You know, I started playing the trumpet when I was eleven.”
