Q: “It’s tough on the road and I remember Jim Galloway telling me he learned more, first time he went out – he went out with Buddy Tate – he said he learned more about traveling with Buddy Tate…”

A: “Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Buddy was an encyclopedia about that. You know, he was wonderful. He knew a lot of stuff about anything. I watched him very carefully. The only thing I could never figure out about Buddy was that Buddy never paced himself and he was always marvelous.”
